Pain that is referred to a different part of the fascial system than the area causing it are often called Trigger Points. Trigger Point Therapy utilizes deep sustained or rhythmic pressure on specific points which can provide great relief from these referred sensations or pain patterns. Fascial tension, or restriction due to adhesion of fascial tissue can sometimes be felt in entirely different parts of the body as well. This therapy is used sparingly and usually along with other forms of bodywork.
